Some workshops have no forklift aisles but do have an overhead crane. A standard cage is awkward there because the forklift cannot enter. The lifting-lug cage is built for this: lugs are welded to the cage bottom, and the crane hook attaches directly to hoist and seat the whole cage. The upside: no forklift dependency and no aisle-width requirement. The downside: hoisting itself is slower than forklift work. It suits heavy, infrequent moves that must use the overhead crane. For daily high-frequency turnover, a forklift-aisle layout is still recommended.
