A channel-steel-bottom cage usually adds one more 10# channel steel on top of the cage's existing bottom channel. This brings two benefits. First, more accurate forklift positioning. The channel extends outward, so the forks slide in along a guide instead of drifting off. Second, easier overhead-crane hoisting. Compared with welded lugs, a full channel steel spreads the load over a larger, even area, raising the safety margin. More material means a higher price than lug-equipped cages. When a workshop needs both frequent forklift moves and occasional crane hoisting — or demands a higher hoisting safety margin — the channel-steel bottom is the steadier choice.
